Crowsnest

A play by Harley Erdman
Cast:  2m, 2w
Run time:  approximately 90 minutes

The setting: an ecovillage somewhere up in the hills. Danny, a newcomer, arrives at a community divided over whether to make some big changes.

Danny befriends Carl, who is a leading the crusade against the powers-that-be; Angie, a founding mother of the community and loyalist; and Sarah, who is married to Carl and just wants there to be peace.

These three characters compete for the love and loyalty of Danny. The unlimited possibilities of utopia come into conflict with the human realities of jealousy and competition as Danny catalyzes new relationships and ignites new passions.

This linguistically rich play explores the many meanings of love, family, and community, in a corner of contemporary America where everyone puts these terms to the extreme test.

Crowsnest was showcased at the 2016 Play-by-Play Festival, A.P.E. Space, Northampton, MA.
